This opportunity provides 90 - 100% funding for live Magic in the Library productions for Odessa, Texas and other area K-5 elementary school groups. To qualify, schools must be either a public, charter, or private school in Ector County. Home school groups in Ector County also qualify. School groups from surrounding areas such as Midland or San Angelo may also participate, but it must be on a field trip basis with the program happening in Odessa (these were the conditions of the grant extended to us).

 

Magic in the Library Live is an educational school assembly program in the format of  alive magic show that's themed around language arts. Our programs encourage recreational readership, visits to the library, teach reading comprehension, and much more. Click to learn more about our programs.

Magic in the Library Live normally costs up to $1200 but is paid for either entirely or almost entirely by our sponsors for this project including Odessa Arts' Cultural Tourism Grant. There is no application that school groups need to fill out. We do ask that you fill out our one-page inquiry form at the bottom of this page (or at least be prepared to answer these questions when talking with us on the phone). If the program is 100% covered, no invoice will be sent to you. If the program is only partially covered (approximately 90%) then the total bill will be $125 or so.

Schools that need help covering the remaining $125 are encouraged to use PTA funds, petty cash, other grants, etc., if funding is an issue. Please let us know if you feel funding may be an issue. This administration fee covers minor costs associated with our programs, such as supplies.
